Each year, Master Gardeners of Central Georgia (MGCG) awards academic scholarships to as many as five deserving individuals who have maintained an outstanding academic record each year. Applications must be mailed, postmarked no later than May 1, 2017.

High School Senior Scholarship Application

As many as two scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors based primarily on scholastic achievement grade point average, Advanced Placement/International Baccalaureate/Honors courses completed, scholastic competitions, activities and awards won. Interested high school seniors should complete the High School Senior Scholarship Application.

College Sophomore and Junior/Senior Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Application

Scholarships will be awarded to a rising college sophomore and junior or senior who has maintained an outstanding scholastic record while pursuing higher education, as well as participation in school and community activities. He or she must have a declared major in one of the following disciplines: Agriculture, Biology, Botany, Entomology, Environmental Science, Horticulture, Landscaping, or related fields. Interested applicants should complete the appropriate application form.

Sylvie Utick Memorial Scholarship

MGCG manages the awarding of a scholarship that recognizes a graduating female high school senior who possesses an outstanding academic record and is interested in pursuing a career in environmental or horticultural-related science. This award is based on scholastic achievement as well as financial need. The scholarship honors the memory of a late member of MGCG and is funded with the assistance of her family. Young ladies interested in applying for this scholarship should complete the Sylvie Utick Memorial Scholarship Application.

Scholarship Guidelines

All scholarship applicants must be legal residents of the state of Georgia from one of the following counties: Bibb, Crawford, Houston, Jones, Monroe, Peach, Twiggs. Additionally, applicants must have applied to, or been accepted at, or currently attend a fully-accredited institution of higher learning (university, college, technical college, etc.) on a full-time basis located within the United States.

Applicants may apply for more than one scholarship if they meet the requirements that are stated for each scholarship.
