Master Gardener Extension Volunteers serving the people of middle Georgia. As members of the Master Gardeners of Central Georgia (MGCG) we train and work together to serve our communities in many ways. Your help is needed to promote the Spring Home & Garden Show and to sell tickets to SHGS.

We promote horticulture and environmental awareness education through a wide variety of sponsored activities, scholarships, and educational grants. We have a strong educational program in our local elementary schools which provides School Master Gardener training and Junior Master Gardener in school activities and training staffed by Master Gardener volunteers.

We are involved in many community projects such as the Perry Hospital Gardens, Macon’s River Walk Tree Trail, Warner Robins Senior Center Beautification, and community gardens in Warner Robins, Perry, and Macon.

The award winning MGCG Native Plant Garden at the Macon Museum of Arts & Science and Hafley Park in Perry are demonstration gardens used as an educational venue. The Arbor Day Plant a Tree Program promotes the value of trees while providing low or no cost trees and instructions on care.

Habitat for Humanity is a community improvement service focus for many of us. Master Gardeners give people a hand up through the initial planning, installation of new home landscape, and maintenance training. The Garden Buddy Program is a one year mentoring process with a new Habitat for Humanity homeowner assigned a Master Gardener.

Our educational projects are staffed and funded by Master Gardener members of MGCG. We have one very large annual fund raising activity The Spring Home & Garden Show held at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry, GA. We invite you to join us this year on April 6th & 7th.
