Master Gardeners Billie Cook and Kristina Wimberly partnered together on a MGCG grant project to bring seed libraries to four local libraries in Macon-Bibb and Houston Counties initially. Now the project has expanded to twelve libraries. Each seed library location received two cabinets: one for vegetables/edible seed plants and one for ornamentals seeds. Each seed library came with a selection of seeds purchased through the grant funds and from donations from area businesses such as Karsten and Denson Hardware, as well as collected seeds from MGs. The seed libraries are located at Nola Brantly (Warner Robins), Centerville, Washington-Downtown Macon, Riverside Library, Shurling, Lanford (South Bibb), Gray-Jones, Twiggs, Forsyth, Byron, Fort Valley, and Roberta.
