What began as Brookdale Warming Center in January 2021 continues to grow, both figuratively and literally. As the now Brookdale Resource Center, it boasts its newest expansion, known as The Gardens at Brookdale, which opened on April 11, 2023.

The Gardens boast 48 raised beds along with various other areas that will grow vegetables and fruit to feed the residents who transition from homelessness. Master Gardener Susan Fisher has been hired to manage the gardens and coordinate volunteers, many of whom are MGEVs.
