Ongoing Projects
MGCG aims to connect the community with research-based, unbiased horticultural information. MGCG plans and coordinates many of the educational activities and horticultural events around the Middle Georgia area including our popular annual Spring and Fall Plant Sales. Programs led and supported by Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Volunteers (MGEVs) include:
Seed Libraries, located in public libraries in local counties
The Native Plant Garden at Macon’s Museum of Arts and Sciences
Hope Gardens, Robins Air Force Base
The Gardens at Brookdale, Macon
St. Isidore’s Garden, Warner Robins
Native Plant Garden, Perry Library
The Junior Master Gardener Program in local schools
Various Ask-a-Master-Gardener events throughout the year (see our Events page)
My Garden, My Plate at several schools in Bibb County
MGEVs also offer educational support to a number of other community organizations and initiatives, including projects of the Fringed Campion Chapter of the Georgia Native Plant Society, Habitat for Humanity, Girl Scouts, and Macon Bibb County.
